Kafka on the Shore Preview (Cont.)
What will YPTR be doing tomorrow? Glad you asked. He'll be reading the first five chapters of Murakami's forthcoming Kafka on the Shore.* You, too, can share the love if you go here, click "Click here to get started," and then enter some info and the secret password (hint: it rhymes with "Pafka").
(*Not to mention a Q&A with Murakami,** a letter from Gary Fisketjon, and a "conversation with translator Philip Gabriel." Oboy!)
(**Murakami sez that his second collection of short stories will come out in the U.S. in 2006, and that he's currently translating a collection of Grace Paley's short stories into Japanese.)

Rake,
In case you too were wondering, per dictionary.com, duralumin is "An alloy of aluminum that contains copper, manganese, magnesium, iron, and silicon and is resistant to corrosion by acids and sea water."
Thanks for the link - it's a fascinating read so far!
Enjoy,

Huh. I just figured that was some kinda neologism. Thanks for setting me straight.

That's real nice. Just because I said I use dictionary.com doesn't mean you need to send me right back to it!

(Jeez. It's getting to be like an episode of "Frasier" in here.)

Um, what happened to dictionary.com, by the way? I just used it yesterday and it was fine. And today I went and it seems to have been replaced with some purchasey type site.
Is it just me?

Working OK for me (although I typically use Bartleby.com).
